Juli Kaplan
About Juli: I have always loved being active and working out in a gym. I started teaching Spin, then Stages Cycle in 2006, and Body Pump then MOSSA Power in 2010. I love teaching a strength class then a cardio class right after, giving members nearly 2 hours of conditioning their bodies to be strong, toned, and fit.

When I’m not at the gym my hobbies are playing tennis, pickle ball, and hiking in the mountains around Sierra City where I grew up.

Scott McIntosh
Fitness training has been a priority in my life since my early thirties when I became interested in triathlon racing. Balancing my daily training with a demanding Veterinary profession was a challenge. To make the most efficient use of my daily training time, I used a heart rate monitor to identify my optimal training zones. By training efficiently, I was able to qualify for and complete the Kona Hawaiian Ironman in both 1986 and 1987.
I continued competing in triathlons for the next 20 years, retired from my Veterinary practice in 2000 and made fitness training my full-time job. Because of my background in cycling and triathlon, I was chosen as a Master Spinning Instructor by Madd Dogg Athletics and traveled the country training cycling instructors. In 2001 I began coaching local athletes utilizing metabolic testing to more accurately identify training zones based on VO2 Max, resting metabolic rate, anaerobic threshold and blood lactate levels.
In 2004 I became certified as a Medical Exercise Specialist through ACE Fitness and started my new fitness company Fittmetrix LLC (www.fittmetrix.com).
Currently I teach power-based cycling through the Stages program at South Yuba Club and offer metabolic testing with the latest equipment (VO2 Master) and training software (INSCYD).
My goal is to offer training and coaching for any fitness level based on their unique fitness metrics.

Suzanne’s work, in all forms, is inspired by the rhythm of life and the beauty of nature. Her intention is to create and hold a space where people can connect to and experience spirit and dive into their bodies.
Kathy Dotson
Kathy Dotson’s fitness journey began in a 1980s SoCal aerobics studio alongside her mom—think tights, headbands, and leotards. Inspired by those energetic instructors, she knew one day she'd lead classes herself.
Years later, after joining South Yuba Club in Nevada City, Kathy reluctantly tried her first Spinning class—thinking it was some kind of dance class—but was instantly hooked. As the workout transformed her body and mindset, she decided to become an instructor.
With a knack for crafting great playlists, Kathy got certified through the Madd Dogg Spinning program in 2012 and began teaching at SYC. Known for her motivating energy and music-driven rides, she combines drills, metrics, and intervals for an effective and fun workout.
Kathy teaches Cycle Fit, Stages Gauges, and a cycle/core combo class. Off the bike, she enjoys time with her husband and two daughters, works as a graphic designer and political activist, and loves catching live music.
Nicole Swingle
My fitness journey began when I was a young teen. I enjoyed running, body sculpting, and a few sports. I began my meditation yoga journey shortly after I developed a passion for body movement and mental health.

When I reached 15, my fitness career began! I started teaching yoga at a local gym a couple days a week. At the same gym, I had the opportunity to train clients who had suffered a stroke with a government funded program called Project Recovery. I also worked at the local community college in the weight training room for a program that supported movement for down's syndrome adults. We did weight room classes and swam with the adults to improve mobility and keep them active.

Currently, I do mindbody classes at the South Yuba Club including: Yoga, Barre and Pilates. I have also been doing one on one sessions with clients and small group training classes for strength and endurance for menopausal women. My studies have taken me down the path of linking movement to mental health. I have had the pleasure to offer a safe space to play in the skin one has at the moment, to explore their self talk and mental landscape as well as help sculpt their bodies and enable them to reach their fitness goals. I have also gone down the path of sports rehab for aging athletes which has been absolutely fascinating. My passion for fitness and mental health is a huge part of my own trauma healing path and why I love to share it with others. Let's go deep together and explore what is inside the skin we have on a physical and a mental level to live kinder, happier lives as a community.

Glenda Mazzuca

Glenda’s passion for fitness began nearly 40 years ago when she took her first “aerobics” class as a New Year’s resolution. It’s the only resolution that I have kept, and she’s still going strong after almost 40 years. Glenda was recruited to teach shortly after her first class, but, due to life changes, she didn’t actually start until a few years later. Her first class format was Step which she taught for nearly 30 years. She has also taught six different MOSSA programs, Yoga, Pilates, Core, Strength, Cycling, a number of Zumba formats, Aqua Fitness, SilverSneakers and a variety of other formats teaching as many as 15 regularly scheduled weekly classes for many years. "Take care of your body, it's the only place you have to live in" has become a very important philosophy in her life, and one she hopes to instill in others. Glenda has been managing Group Fitness departments for over 15 years. After all of these years, Glenda still loves teaching and managing. How many people can say they love going to “work” after 40 years?
Outside of the gym, I love spending time with my dogs. I own many Brittanys and a Boston Terrier. I enjoy competing with them in the show ring and the field.
Glenda has a wonderful son and daughter and is the proud grandmother of fraternal twin girls and 2 grandsons.
