Job Title: Learn to Swim Instructor
Department: Children’s Programs
Supervisor: Swim Director
Pay Rate Range: $20-$22 per hour
Status: Part-Time

At South Yuba Club, we believe in more than just teaching swim skills—we create an environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Our swim instructors play a key role in building confidence, fostering a love for the water, and ensuring every lesson is a positive experience.

General Responsibilities:
Provide personalized swim instruction, meeting each participant’s needs with patience and encouragement.
Create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere that builds trust with swimmers and their families.
Promote water safety and ensure a fun, engaging experience that inspires a lifelong appreciation for swimming.
Follow structured progressions while adapting lessons to individual learning styles and goals.
Maintain accurate attendance using Mindbody software.

Issue certificates of completion to celebrate achievements and encourage continued learning.
Respond to accidents or emergencies per SYC protocols and Red Cross Lifeguard Training guidelines.
Arrive at least 5 minutes before lesson start time to ensure a seamless and professional experience.
Uphold all South Yuba Club policies and represent the club with professionalism and care.

What We Look For:

• Strong knowledge of swim techniques and the ability to demonstrate skills effectively.
• A passion for working with children and creating a joyful, encouraging learning environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills to build lasting relationships.
• Certifications & Education:
• Current Lifeguard certification (required).
• First Aid, Adult/Child/Infant CPR/AED certification (required).
• Technology Skills:
• Comfortable using club management software to view schedules and track time.
