Childcare Attendant Job Description
Title: Childcare Attendant
Department: Children’s Programs
Supervisor: Children’s Programs Director
Pay Rate: $17/hour
Status: Part Time, Non-exempt
Objective: To ensure a fun safe environment for children
General Responsibilities
- Create a fun and safe environment.
- Greet all members, children and guests in a welcoming and friendly manner (by name as often as possible)
- Keep a clean, organized facility.
- Abide by all South Yuba Club policies and the Employee Handbook.
- Tend to accident or emergency situations in accordance with SYC accident/incident protocols, emergency action plans and CPR guidelines.
- Check all parents/children in and out of childcare in our computer based system.
- Answer/assist all incoming phone calls to child care.
- Ensure that members and guests follow club policies, especially with regard to childcare payments, booking, etc.
- Perform all procedures and shift duties as assigned by the director.
- Maintain professionalism when not assisting members; avoid phone usage, sitting, internet surfing or any other activities that are not work-related.
- Create favorable first impressions.
- Field member complaints and concerns.
- Performs other duties assigned.
- Schedule childcare reservations for members.
Required Skills
- Ability to multitask
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Previous experience in working with children
- CPR and AED certification, or willing to obtain certification
