Strength Training

XPRESS CIRCUIT (45 min) Total cardiovascular, strength and flexibility circuit style class taught by a Certified Personal Trainer.  All levels welcome.  Pre-requisite: Keiser Equipment Orientation.

Gentle Moves (50 min) Wonderful strengthening & stretch class for Seniors.  Strength bands are used to help condition the body followed by a full-body stretch.

Cardiovascular Training

Cardio Rhythms - Get your Heart pumpin’ & your body shakin’ to the world beat rhythms.  Improve your cardio fitness, increase your flexibility & free your mind in this fun class for all levels.

Muscle N’ Funk -Great blend of aerobic, funk, and muscle moves combined into wonderfully choreographed routines complimented by a touch of abdominal work.  Guaranteed to condition the body & energize the soul.

Five Rhythms Wave - Weekly instruction in the 5Rhythms practice of Gabrielle Roth, provides a self-discovery process designed to free the spontaneous dancer living inside everyone. The rhythms are a series of healing maps that awaken the body, mind, and spirit.  More info - www.welloflight.com

Sweat Your Prayers - A dive into the 5Rhythms practice using an uninterrupted musical ‘Wave’ as your guide. Experience the freedom of moving to music from around the world. This is an aerobic workout as well as a moving meditation. (minimal instruction).   More info - www.welloflight.com

Mind / Body
The ultimate Mind/Body class. A combination of Tai Chi, Yoga, & Pilates.  Body Flow will help improve your strength, flexibility, coordination, & balance.  Ideal for beginners to advanced exercisers. Getting started with BodyFlow

Pilates Level 1 - This mat class moves through all the essential exercises and prepares students for the intermediate exercises.  Focus is on the basic Pilates principles, including proper breathing, and shoulder and pelvic girdle stabilization.  Students will improve core strength, balance and flexibility.  Pilates experience is recommended prior to taking this class (Intro to Pilates class is recommended ).  Advance sign-up required.

Pilates Level 2 - This is a faster paced class, transitioning essential and intermediate exercises in a flowing manner.  Some small equipment like the Fitness Circle and Therabands may be used.  Improves strength, endurance, coordination and muscular control.  Prior Pilates experience necessary.  Advance sign-up required.

Pilates Sculpt - Level 1 Basic Pilates exercises are performed to strengthen postural muscles: the back and deep abdominals. Therapeutic balls and bands are used to intensify these exercises while toning shoulders, arms, glutes and legs.  Pilates experience is helpful, but not necessary.  Advance sign-up required.

Yoga Level I - Traditional yoga focusing on breathing, technique and body alignment, relaxation, & meditation.  Ideal for flexibility, strength, muscle balance and relaxation.  An excellent class for beginners.

Indoor Cycle
Fun, athletic, & cardiovascular cycling workout that burns up to 400 calories in a single ride.  Set to a jamming soundtrack, rpm is known by devotees as “the rock concert on wheels.”  See quick improvement in endurance as well as a fast boost in lower body strength.  With rpm, getting physical and mental exercise results is “as easy as riding a bike!” Advance sign-up required at the Front Desk. PRO SPIN - The difference isn’t all genetics; it’s partly the training.  SYC has pro-athletes on staff to lead you through a workout that will definitely improve your fitness.  All experience and fitness levels welcome.  Advance sign-up required.

Water Activities
AQUA AEROBICS  A FUN class and a great cardiovascular and strength workout without putting strain on the joints! Foam dumbbells & noodles used to firm, tone and strengthen muscles.

H20 VOLLEYBALL Like playing volleyball on the beach in Maui - well almost. It's one of the most social programs in the club! Recreational teams are created each night. Come and join the fun in our warm pool, play ball & make new friends.

POOL PARTIES (Saturdays 3:00-5:00pm - $) Contact Childcare for your child’s birthday party in our swimming pool! Advanced reservation and fee required.

FAMILY SWIM ($2.50 per child) Members and guests, bring your children ages 6 months to 10 years old for a fun afternoon of swimming and pool fun. Children not potty trained MUST WEAR a swim diaper.

KAYAK ROLL ($) Want to learn to white water kayak? It all begins with learning how to roll your boat. Top-notch instructors. Classes usually run March through October. Reservations available at Wolf Creek Wilderness, 477-2722.

* Please note: Children under 14 years of age must have direct parental supervision when using the pool. Children under 11 years of age are only allowed in the pool when enrolled in an SYC program. It is not recommended that children under 6 years of age use the spa at any time.
