We have classes that fit just about everybody. (see schedule below)

  • Aqua Aerobics:
This is a one hour class which offers an effective series of gentle movements and resistance exercises. It is very safe and perfect for persons who are reconditioned and just starting to get in shape or for persons who are working on improved fitness with more vigorous and faster movement.
  • H20 Volleyball:
Talk about some fast moving action…this is it! This is volleyball in the water with gusto. People rotate in and out of the game so everyone gets to play. Recreational teams are created each night. The age limit on the junior side is 14 years, there is no age limit on the senior side. You'll make some friends with this group.
  • Kids Swim Lessons:
This is a for-fee learning to swim program for young kids. It is supervised and has limited enrollment so sign up early. Call the front desk for fees and times.
  • Family Swim:
This is scheduled each Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.. There is a charge of $2.50 per child. It is a great way to spend some meaningful time with your kids.

Benefits of Warm Water Exercise
Most clubs keep their pool temperatures in the mid-70 degree range because it keeps their heating bills lower. However this temperature can be too cold for participating in aqua classes. We prefer to keep our pool waters warmer so our members remain comfortable.

The benefits of warm water pool are:

  • Exercise with little or no stress on joints
  • Improved circulation
  • Reduction of swelling and edema
  • Improved cardio-vascular conditioning
  • Better muscle balance, coordination & strength
  • Stress relief
  • Increased energy along with improved physical and social outlook without fear of falling during exercise

Who can benefit from warm water exercise?

  • Seniors
  • Inactive adults of any age
  • Persons recovering from injury or prolonged inactivity
  • Persons under stress
  • Sufferers of fibromyalgia, arthritis or general aches and pain
  • Pregnant, post-natal and menopausal women

The pool at the South Yuba Club is kept at 85°F so our members have the best of all worlds. In addition to free swimming, it is warm enough for group exercise classes, wellness programs and 'in the water' personal training. The 85°F makes water conditioning enjoyable summer or winter.
